So just what is the impact of doubt in your business?

I’ve seen it so many times, no matter what causes the doubt, the effect of doubt is the same. When a Holistic Practitioner faces doubt, doubt in themselves, their worth, their ability to help their clients, doubt in their purpose and if they should even be doing this work something happens.

They stop.

They stop taking action. They stop and question EVERYTHING! Or they stop and just do nothing. Either way, their foot is on the brakes of their business.

What happens next?

Their energy says STOP, so what do you think begins to happen in their business?

New clients rushing in? Nope.

New opportunities to get their work out? Nope.

Taking whatever action is needed to attract more clients? Nope.

If your energy says STOP, everything begins to come to a halt. Not only that but the clients you do have, the clients you are a light in the dark for feel it too. The light is out or very dim. The reason they signed on with you in the first place, the energy space they needed you to hold for them is gone. They feel it, you feel it and this only gets worse.

It’s 2012. Now is the time to step up to your purpose in faith. Now more than ever what you have is needed in the world. You are a lighthouse, a light in the dark for your clients.

And they need your light ON. They need you to keep your foot on the gas in your business, to keep moving forward so your light stays on for them.

There are many factors that contribute to doubt continuing to arise in your business. Too many to get into here, but I’d like to share with you a very powerful and simple 5 step process to shift out of doubt within minutes.

I’ve used this myself and every time I shift out of doubt and into belief. Getting out of doubt is not a one time thing. It’s like a bad habit that must be broken. So I recommend printing this out and having it beside your desk so you can keep your foot on the gas in your business and keep the light shining for those you’re meant to shine it for.

Here we go!

Step 1: Get Your Thoughts and Feelings OUT

Step 1 is all about getting all of those circling thoughts and feelings out of your mind and onto the page. In this step you write for as long as you like, until you feel you’ve gotten most of the thoughts and feelings out around what’s going on for you.

I know you’ve probably heard you’re not supposed to focus on the negative, that’s not what you’re doing here. These thoughts and feelings are already going on WITHIN you, might as well get them out!

Step 2: Ask yourself, is my focus on me or those I’m meant to help?

If you look at what you wrote in step 1, you’ll likely see that your focus is all on YOU. This is a major problem because it AMPLIFIES any doubt you are experiencing. Recognize that you are feeding the doubt by focusing on yourself and proceed to step 3.

Step 3: What pain, problems or challenges are your clients facing?

Here you begin to shift the focus off of you and onto the people you’re meant to help. Write all about what your clients or potential clients are facing right now in their lives. The problems you can help them with. Write as much as you can, really put yourself in your clients’ shoes and connect with what they are experiencing that you could help them out of.

Step 3 is where you take your foot off of the brake energetically.

Step 4: Why are YOU the one to help them?

Write all you can think of about why YOU are the person to help your clients or potential clients. What life experience do you have that relates to what they’re going through? Have you been where they are and gotten out of it? What do you know that could help them? What training and experience do you have that can help them? Why are YOU the one to help them?

Spend as much time as you can here, at step 4, energetically you are putting your foot on the gas. Your confidence and faith goes up with this important step, which is exactly what you need to get out of doubt and brakes on and back into faith and foot on the gas.

Step 5: Affirm “I Choose To Trust”

After your foot has been placed back on the gas where it belongs, it helps to remind yourself that God, the Universe is backing you. Remind yourself that you’ve been drawn to create this business for a reason, that you ARE meant to be doing this work, that your path is guided.

I love the affirmation “I choose to trust” because many times trust is a choice. You can’t wait until you trust 100% to be successful in business. Being in business is an act of faith in itself.

Now that you’re back into the energy of faith, what action can you take right now?

Get going on it! Keep your light shining! And come back to the 5 steps any time you need to, any time you find yourself in doubt.

I’d love to share with you a secret that you have likely heard before but one that is SO important.  A quote I read this morning sums it up pretty good:

“There seems to be a door on the way to remarkable success that can be passed through only by those willing to persevere beyond the point where the majority stop and turn back”  ~ Earl Nightingale

I’ve read recently that something like 80% of businesses fail within the first 3 years.

This is sad to me because often these same failures could have been huge successes, if they had just kept going.

How do I know?  Let me share a bit of a story about my own business…

At the 3 year mark, I made something like $8,600 in my entire third year of business.  So obviously things were not looking up, that’s a heck of a lot of effort put into something that didn’t “appear” to be working.

Here’s the thing…

If I would have quit then, I would be with the other 80% who “failed” in the first 3 years of business.

But that’s not what happened.

Within the first 5 months of that next year, I more than tripled my sales.  And my business has been growing at a rapid pace ever since, all of this even in spite of going through a recession in that time.

Why do I share this with you?

A couple of reasons.

I get frustrated when some business mentors paint a picture only of the success and forget to mention the truth about what it can be like to get there.  You see that rosy picture, then you look at your business which is miles away from that picture, and you feel discouraged because YOU can’t seem to get there.

And the other reason goes back to this, I’m not really sure “failure” is the right word.  I’d say most often failure is what happens when you give up too soon.

I could have been a “failure” but instead, I kept going.  I didn’t give up.  I got help.  I did whatever it took to find the way to succeed.  I didn’t stop until I found the way.

Because the way is there.

And I’m glad I didn’t give up.  If I gave up, not only would I not be living this life that is totally incredible to me, based in freedom, passion and authenticity inside and out… But all of the clients I have helped free themselves to live their purpose could still be stuck.  And that is sad.

You have an important purpose, your work, your wisdom, your gifts, your energy ARE needed in the world.  Right now.

So do you have to wait until year 3 to take off in your business?  I don’t think so.  The energy in the planet right now supports your success.  I watch how quickly things move with my clients and I am amazed.  The time is now.

If you don’t want to wait forever, I suggest you take a shortcut, and the only one I know is to find someone who is ahead of you on the path, who knows the shortcuts, who has been where you are and has gotten out of it and to learn from them how to speed up your path.

There are plenty of great mentors out there, I’ve learned from many myself, but I do recommend making sure that the person is fully aligned with you, is similar enough to you that they can understand your challenges and really know how to get YOU from where you are to where you want to be.

It’s time step up and shine!

Do whatever it takes to be there, this could be THE turning point in your business.  It’s time to step up and shine.  Your people need exactly what it is that you have but, if you’re not succeeding in your business, that means they can’t find you.

Here is a special message for you that I was guided to share with you:

Dear one you are shaking and nervous about your work, about your ability to deliver it and to live a great life that involves your business being your means of income.  The results of your efforts may seem small, perhaps you face disappointment after disappointment.

What is really happening here?

Did you ever stop to think that you were perhaps not doing something wrong… that everything that is happening is happening to both strengthen a key energy within you of faith and to also show you the way to this life you envision?

You often face feelings of doubt.  When you have doubt in yourself, your abilities, your worth, your message, your program you are sending out a conflicting message to the Universe.  You say you are ready, you take actions, but your energy says otherwise.

With this conflict in your energy, you can not create powerful results.

It is most important to resolve this doubt.  For until you do, you will have the brakes on.  With doubt, you will never be able to create the most results, they will always be minimized and reduced because your energy is restricted.  It doesn’t match the success you envision.

You may fear stepping fully into belief because what would happen if you believed and were then disappointed?  What if you were to look like a failure?  So rather than face this possibility, you back down and sink into doubt. 

Doubt is safer.  With doubt you are allowing yourself to choose to be small. 

What might shift in your business if you stopped doubting yourself?  If you chose to TRUST and act as though success were guaranteed?

I’ll tell you what would happen, you would be sending a powerful message to the Universe that you are no longer holding back and letting your small self run the show.  You would begin to attract at an entirely new level, and you would attract THE WAY to actually create the results you envision if you were able to hold onto trust instead of doubt.

Would the results you create change immediately?  Maybe not. 

You don’t know what you don’t know and you may need to learn new skills for example to help you become the person who can create those results.  Energy alone does not create your reality because you live in a physical world. 

But energy is the foundation, if you’re stuck in doubt, no action can help you.  If you’re choosing to trust and take action on that trust, then the way begins to be activated.

The way may involve people, programs, ideas, mentors, books coming your way to help you get the skills and knowledge you need to translate your vision of what success looks like for you into physical reality.

Let go of attachment to results, there is no failure anyway, just learning.  And you will learn WAY more if you choose to trust and step up.  And you won’t learn much if you don’t step up, if you choose to let doubt rule you and keep you small.

The world needs your gifts.  The world needs your confidence, your belief, your energy.  The world needs your example of faith in action and of what is truly possible when you step up bravely for what is in your heart.

We leave you with this:

Most of the world hides out, most of the world does not take charge of their destiny.  It may feel uncomfortable for you to do it a new way.  But that discomfort is the very thing that shows you that you’re on track. 

That you’re riding the wave toward your new future.  Comfort is a signal you are choosing to stay small.  Be willing to be uncomfortable, be willing to be brave, to step up, to shine your light to the world in the way only you can.

You won’t see just how much incredible help and support there is, just for you, to help you get there until you do.

What have you been avoiding?  What have you been afraid to try in case you might fail?  Can you allow yourself to be willing to step up, to show up and take the new steps that you have avoided in the past?  Can you be willing to get on the bike for the first time, to fall once or twice so you can finally learn?  So you can create a new reality for yourself?

Be willing to be brave, be willing to step up.  I’ve done this countless times in my business only to see absolutely incredible things happening.  My sales tripling or doubling, the way showing up for me just as I chose to step up.

The funny thing is, you can’t see it until you step up.  The Universe won’t show you the way until you say yes and take the actions that show you believe you will succeed.

Take a moment right now to identify something you’ve been avoiding, an action, big or small that you could take right now to show the Universe you’re ready to step up, you’re ready to trust.  And take it!  Be willing to be uncomfortable and you’ll grow your business faster than you can imagine.

It’s your time to shine.  Show that you believe it.

When it comes to charging, many Holistic Practitioners do something that’s logical, but has them not honouring the true value of the work they do.

This #1 mistake is:

Setting their fee according to what other Holistic Practitioners Charge

So again, this is logical but this idea is very faulty.  It’s missing a MAJOR key to pricing in a way that honours the gifts you have to give…

#1 Key to Setting Your Fees: Your Fees Are Not About YOU!

Most Holistic Practitioners don’t charge near enough because they make the mistake of are charging based on what they think THEY are worth.

Connecting your fees with your value leads to big trouble!

When you do this, you’re making a wide open invitation for ego to jump in and wreak havoc.  If you charge too much, you will at one moment be feeling over-confident (as the ego loves being better than everyone else) then when you do sign on a client at this higher rate, your energy will tank as you can’t keep up that over-confidence because it was not the truth of your being.

And with this fluctuating belief in your value comes a direct impact on your sales.  When you can’t sustain a higher energy around the value of what you offer, you will not be able to sustain the energy and motivation needed to fuel the actions to share this work with the world. 

And everybody loses!

The truth is, your fees have little to do with your own worth anyway so you’re better off just bypassing the whole problem.

I have high end programs and they are a significant investment.  But I don’t see that investment as a reflection of my value… I see things a bit differently.

Challenge yourself to see the value as I do:

The investment for your program is a reflection of the value of the transformation that will occur in the lives of your clients when going through my program

That’s the key!  If you can get your mind around this and create powerful programs that create a real, tangible impact in your client’s lives, issues with pricing will start to disappear.

When you finally OWN that the value of the impact your programs have in the lives of your clients is HUGE, you can finally step into charging what it’s really worth.  And when you honour the value of this transformation, you can finally open the door to making the money you are meant to make.

And that is a real blessing because there are people out there right now who need exactly what it is that you have.

I remember back when I started my business that it was not exactly the ideal time in a logical sense.  I had just moved into a brand new house that I had built and I had just been laid off of my Engineering job.

To those around me, I must have seemed crazy, but what I knew was that I was being guided, that it WAS time I start my business.  There were signs and even when I just looked at the Engineering job postings, everything in me said NO!!!

That first year was hard.  Trying so much to build my business but by the end of that year I had to admit that I needed another source of income and sadly returned to my Engineering career.

I felt like a failure.  I knew so much about the Law of Attraction and manifesting, why couldn’t I succeed?

My business grew over the next couple of years but still was not anywhere near able to support me financially.  I was SO frustrated!  What was I doing wrong?!

Can you relate?

I was trying SO hard, doing all I could, not realizing that my not-so-supportive relationship was secretly holding back major sales growth in my business.

Now I do not blame anyone for anything, my life is my creation as is yours.  But what I know now is this:

Your relationship is a mirror of you.

And if you do not feel supported in your relationship, it says something very important about YOU.  It says that you are on your own.  You are independent, maybe even a fighter.  And most importantly, it says that you CAN’T or DON’T allow support.

So what? Isn’t it good to be so independent?  A make-it-happen kind of woman?

In a word, no.  It is not a good thing for one VERY important reason that you need to get if you are ever going to take your business to the place where it supports you financially…

You can’t create a successful business alone.  And you’re not meant to.

You will need to learn from those ahead of you on the path.  And even if you could learn it all on your own, it would not be possible for you to find the exact right information because you are closed off to the most important thing on this path…

The support of the Universe.

If you are going at it alone, if you are fighting to build your business, your energy says one thing:  “I don’t need support”

And that is just not true.

Maybe that’s hard to hear but I know without a doubt that I did not create my success alone.  I believed when there was no evidence saying I should.  I trusted in the Universe to guide the way.  I trusted that there was a way.

BUT… my business did not change until the dynamics in my relationship changed.  That relationship was not capable of being supportive, it was not for my highest good and I can see that looking back that I had to leave it to get here.  And it wasn’t until I let go of what was unsupportive that I was finally able to allow the support of my business growing.

Immediately, I attracted an incredible program and mentor, the exact support I needed to create a MAJOR increase in my sales, within just a few months.  And to end up with a 322% increase in sales over the previous year.

This whole “go it alone” thing is so common among Holistic Practitioners, particularly women and it has got to go.

The Universe has SO much love for you.  It not only WANTS you to succeed but has the way for you to do that… If you let yourself be supported.

Open the door right now.  Even if you don’t know how to allow support, I challenge you to close your eyes after you read this and to go within and if you feel ready declare to yourself and the Universe:  I am willing to open to support, show me the way.

One thing I hear often from new clients is something along the lines of “I’m not doing it for the money” or “money isn’t that important to me”.  Yet, I hear they are struggling financially.

Let me share one important concept with you that I want you to take with you forever…  As a Holistic Practitioner, you are a healer of some kind, an agent of transformation.  This automatically means that, in your business, two things are linked:

Income and Impact

So why is this so important?

If you say “the money doesn’t matter” you’re automatically saying “the impact I’m here to make in people’s lives, the impact I’m here to make on the planet doesn’t matter”.

You’re meant to help change lives for the better!  You’re meant to help heal hearts, free expression, gain confidence or whatever your purpose involves.

Let’s say your purpose is to help heal the hearts of broken-hearted single women who’ve lost their hope around finding love.  The more money you make, the more hearts are healed.  The more hope around love there is on the planet, the less pain there is in the lives of those you’re meant to work with.

The higher your income, the greater your impact, period.

It’s actually your responsibility to get yourself okay with making great money.  If you don’t, there will be so many people out there who will miss out on the gift you have for them, who will stay in a pain you could help them get out of.

It’s time to step up!

Let’s start to shift your energy around money right now.  Grab a pen and a piece of paper if you can for this exercise.

There is a simple new way of looking at money I encourage you to embrace to see just how welcoming you are of money in your life:

Money is your friend

Are you repelling money?  If you begin to open to the idea that money is a friend, you can really find out if you’re attracting or repelling money!  Answer the following questions to find out:

1. If money was your friend, judging by how you treat this friend, would your friend want to hang around you?
2. Do you love money? Do you spend time and attention on it?  Do you show it you care?
3. Do you fear it?  Ignore it?  Do you say money doesn’t matter?
4. What does how you approach this friend show you about how much of it is in your life?
5. What is one action you can take to show this friend of yours that it’s valuable and important to you and that it matters?

One idea is to spend time each week with money.  Another could be to take a look at what you’re doing to track the money coming in.

Often in the beginning, Holistic Practitioners don’t track their money, they think it’s not much they’re making so they don’t track it.  What kind of message is this sending?!

Embrace the behaviours now that you will use when you have lots of money or you will never have lots of money!

The great thing about tracking money, ESPECIALLY when you haven’t made much, is that when you start making more, you’ll have plenty to celebrate!

Remember your work here is to transform lives, and the more money you make, the bigger the difference you’re making in the world!  Begin today to bring love and attention to money.  It’s time to get in alignment with your higher purpose of making great money and a big impact.  It’s time to shine!

There are many deeper underlying dynamics at the root of this issue but the good news is there are simple mindset shifts that can help steer you in the right direction even if the underlying dynamics haven’t shifted yet

Here are the 3 mindset shifts to help you come out of hiding with your work:

Mindset Shift #1: You’re Only Meant to Help Those Who Resonate with You

One of the biggest underlying fears around putting yourself out there has to do with the fear of someone “out there” not liking you and rejecting you.  The truth is, there will always be people out there who don’t like you, who maybe even think you’re crazy!  But guess what? It doesn’t matter!

The people you are meant to work with will love you, they are on the same page as you, they resonate with your most authentic message. So don’t hold it back!

I am amazed every day at the incredible people I get to work with, had I shrunk down and stayed in hiding, there’s no way they would have found me.  Open to the idea that your people ARE out there, they resonate with you and those who don’t resonate don’t even matter.

Mindset Shift #2: Speak Directly to Your Ideal Client

To help further Mindset Shift #1, it is very important that you speak DIRECTLY to your ideal client.  Speak directly to their pain, their challenges using their language and as if you were talking to one individual, directly to them.

When you’re used to hiding out you’re not used to the energy of connection which is one of the most important energies in your business.  To start establishing this energy of connection, for everything you write for your business, imagine you were writing directly to your most ideal client.  Directly to her.  And be yourself, just as if she was right there in front of you.

This way, if there are those out there who don’t resonate with you at least they will know it and can jump out of your community.  If you’re busy trying to please everyone and be all things to all people you won’t get to help anyone because no one will CONNECT with you.

Mindset Shift #3: You Have a Very Specific Purpose

You must drop the idea of being the person who can help anyone if you are to help all of the people you are meant to help.

The truth is, I could help people with lots of things, I have a lot of knowledge about math for example but for me to help people with math would be a big waste.  Because although I CAN help people with a lot of things, I have a very specific purpose.  It is the same in your business.

When you drop all that you aren’t passionate about, or are even just lukewarm about in your business and focus on what gets you the most excited, you are in tune with your passion.  When you’re doing the work you’re most passionate about you are living your purpose.  Isn’t that great?

Why do I share this with you?  Your job isn’t to put yourself out there to the entire world, your job is to put yourself out there to those you are MEANT to help.  To those who need exactly what you have and exactly who you are. Have this picture in your mind replace the one you may be used to where the world “out there” is a scary place where there’s all sorts of people out there who may not like you.

Take the risk, put yourself out there so YOUR people can find you.  Be willing to do what it takes to be visible to them. And if you ever feel like hiding again, come back to these 3 Mindset Shifts to help you refocus and continue to put yourself out there.

Does this sound familiar to you?

You know there are deeper issues at play, every time you have a big light bulb moment you think THIS is the reason I have been stuck!  I’ve figured it out once and for all.

And then what happens?

You feel better for a day or so then reality sinks in and it hasn’t changed at all. Well maybe you feel better but you’re not making any more money, you have no more clients than you did the week before.

So what happened here?

I see this all of the time.  Many of my clients already know how to heal using different modalities.  They feel like they SHOULD be able to know how to heal themselves and that they should be able to figure out what’s keeping them stuck and just heal it.

Sound familiar?

I’ve found more often than not that you’re rarely ever stuck for the reason you think you are.  And in a lot of cases the healing you are doing isn’t getting to the deepest issue that’s causing your REALITY to be stuck.

That’s why you can come up against issue after issue, resolving each one as you go and STILL be stuck in your business.

Here are 3 tips to help you get to the root of WHAT is really holding you back in your business:

Tip #1: It’s not just a belief in your way

There are many wonderful tools and modalities that will help you heal beliefs.  These tools are powerful and can be life-changing and I use them myself when I KNOW it’s just a belief in the way.  But if you are REALLY stuck in your business, there is far more to it.  That’s why you can heal belief after belief and not have the reality change.  Why?

The bigger and deeply rooted ENERGY dynamic within you hasn’t changed.  And beliefs are just a small part of that energy dynamic.

If you have changed the reality in your business (the amount of money coming in) just from changing beliefs alone then that’s great, no need to read on!  But if you feel you’ve tried to heal your beliefs endlessly and you’re STILL stuck then the issue is more complex, which leads us to Tip #2.

Tip #2: What’s the story?

I’ve found the energies that keep entrepreneurs stuck in their business are a lot more like a story.  There’s a plot, there are characters, dangers and consequences.

And it tends to play out repeatedly.

Become more aware of your business and yourself in it from an outsider’s perspective and you will gain far more insight into what’s really going on at a deeper level in your business.

The story of what’s happening in your business has likely been playing out your whole life (or even for lifetimes). If you can recognize the story you’re one step closer to being free of the old story and able to create a new, more abundant and successful one.

This detective work can be fun, but it can also take a lot of time.  Being a Capricorn, I like efficiency and I’m sure you would rather have your business thriving in a shorter time, so this brings us to Tip #3.

Tip #3: Your intuition knows

If you’re like the clients I’ve coached over the years you likely feel sort of powerless and frustrated when it comes to getting your business going.  It feels bigger than you and at times maybe you wonder if you’ll ever be able to get it going.

But let me tell you something important.  You are WAY more powerful than you realize. You are fully capable of succeeding in your business and attracting all that you need in order to help you do just that.

In fact, you actually have the ability to pinpoint EXACTLY what is keeping you stuck in your business.  It’s a skill you can cultivate.

That’s exactly what my clients do.  I help them at first by using my intuition to pinpoint exactly what’s keeping them stuck.  And then they go on to do this for themselves and are often amazed at how simple this can be and that they can actually do it for themselves.

It doesn’t have to be a mystery.  Your intuition knows the way.  If you really want to accelerate the growth of your business then you want to use your intuition as a shortcut.
